get involved!
almost every night we dumpster at a neighborhood bookstore (a franchise of a national chain). Every night their dumpster is filled with books, not books that are damaged or out of date; but perfectly good, relevant books. Of the books we have donated over 50 to a children’s hospital, we utilized some of their pages in our zine, and we’re starting a free store.
we are in the works of writing to this store’s owner asking them why they throw away books… we want them to know that these books don’t have to fill a dumpster, but could be held by a child learning to read or donated to places that could utilize them. we are starting an online petition against the store throwing away books and for donating them instead, and will post a link on our blog as soon as it’s set up if you want to be involved :) check back for updates.
help us boycott this wasteful culture that exists!
Do It Together Fest 2009 →
DIT fest is a music (and more) festival in Kent, Ohio where wonderful things happen. This year its held September 11th-12th. We will be handing out our zines there so come talk to us about em!
